Excavation & Concrete Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Excavation & Concrete Estimator to join our team. This role

is responsible for accurately estimating costs, preparing bids, and helping secure profitable

projects. This person will also review and submit variance purchase orders. The ideal candidate

will have direct industry knowledge and a strong understanding of both excavation and

concrete work and estimating principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to determine scope of work

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment

• Solicit and review quotes from suppliers

• Prepare bid proposals and submit them in a timely manner

• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure estimates align with actual job

requirements

• Review and issue variance purchase orders

• Track and analyze project costs for future estimating accuracy

• Maintain current knowledge of industry pricing, trends, and best practices

• Apply for permits, schedule inspections and track inspection status

Qualifications

• Experience in excavation, concrete, or civil construction estimating

• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Sage Construction, Bluebeam, or similar)

• Experience in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal teams

• Valid Idaho driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
